Setting up the tool
- Retrieve needle and spool from body.
- To thread the twine through the feed hole: take about 20 cm (8 inches) of thread, fold it in half and insert the loop into the body from the feed hole. Thread the twine through the loop on the fold and pull through.
- Replace spool in body and put rubber cap back on.
- Fit needle in nozzle ensuring that groove in needle is aligned with feed hole.
- Tighten clamp tension post screw (with a screwdriver).
- Ensure that thread from spool passes around tension clamp screw in a CLOCKWISE direction, passing under thread from spool (1).

|
To Begin Stitching
- Pull enough thread through the needle from the spool for the length of the sewing plus 50%, for practical purposes 40cm (about a foot) maximum.
- Push needle fully through material, keeping the needle and the tool in a straight line (i.e. do not try to make the needle flex).
- Then withdraw needle enough to form a loop on the other side (2).
| |

|
- Grasp loop and pull loose end completely through. (3)

INSTRUCTION GUIDE 2) STITCHING Second and subsequent stitches

|
- Push needle through the next stitch position, then withdraw needle enough to form loop. (4)
| |

|
- Pass loose end of thread completely through loop. (5)
| |

|
- Withdraw needle and tension the stitch by pulling on both sides of thread. (6)
| |
TO FINISH, ON THE LAST STITCH

|
- It is best to do a half stitch: push the needle through, form a loop and cut thread near tension post. (7)
| |

|
- Pull the cut thread through the eye of the needle. Now you have both threads on the same side of the material (8).
- Finish with a reef knot and burn thread ends.
