Tool description

  • The body of the Stitch-It-Awl is made entirely from rust-free stainless steel.
  • The thread spool is also corrosion-free.
  • The needles used are high quality anti corrosion industrial sewing machine needles, from the German manufacturer Schmetz.

Operating principle

The sewing principle is similar to that of a sewing machine in the sense that the material is sewn on both sides at the same time, and that the needle is never fully pulled through the material.
Briefly, the user pushes the needle through the material, then withdraws it just enough so that a loop is formed. The user then passes the loose end of the thread through this loop and tightens the stitch by pulling on both sides of the thread.

Comprehensive step by step  pictorial instructions are provided with the tool.
